WHAT WILL YOU DO?

You will demonstrate your technical knowledge and work towards implementing practical and effective solutions for clients. Your role will involve conducting field assessments, collecting samples, and supporting Project Leads in the preparation of reports.

JOB DUTIES

  • Complete site inspections; identify and collect data from air and noise emission points.

  • Apply mathematical acoustics concepts including sound wave propagation, frequency analysis and sound level data interpretation.

  • Post-process and analyze measurements using software modules and other tools.

  • Conduct noise propagation modelling using specialized acoustical software.

  • Preparation of Acoustic Assessment reports for ECA Applications and EASR Registrations.

  • Prepare Noise Impact/Feasibility Studies for the purpose of land use planning applications.

  • Outline specific actions that may be required based on supporting guidelines related to noise and vibration criteria.

  • Assist with the design of noise emission controls.

  • Adherence to health and safety protocols for self and support staff, if applicable.

  • Field work in all seasons; travel and overtime may be required.

  • Working at heights, ability to climb ladders and carry equipment in potential rough terrain required.

  • Communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non- technical stakeholders.

  • Teamwork and collaboration: Willingness to work collaboratively with others, including engineers, technicians, and other consultants.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable engineering disciplines.

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant employment experience in environmental noise and vibration (preferably in consulting environment).

  • Superior written communication skills are essential. Ability to communicate well with others and engage in technical communication (reading, writing and oral) in English.

  • Works well independently as well as a part of a team.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, AERMOD, SCREEN3, CadnaA, and STAMSON.

  • Strong knowledge of provincial legislation and regulations relating to environmental air, noise, and vibration

  • Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.

  • Willingness for occasional travel within Canada.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Your role will involve providing technical support on air emissions assessments, modelling, and reporting. You are expected to support Project Leads in the collection and analysis of data and implementing solutions to air pollution issues.

JOB DUTIES

  • Ability to analyze data, interpret results, and provide recommendations to air emissions assessment projects.

  • Understanding of project requirements and relevant technical specifications and their practical uses.

  • General understanding of air emissions modelling, pollution control technology, and air emission monitoring.

  • Technical writing involves written content related to emissions data assessment and interpretation to ensure conformance with regulations, standards, and practices associated with a facility.

  • Review, summarize, and interpret data to provide conclusions and mitigation recommendations.

  • Supports regulatory audits, including follow-up and reporting.

  • Communication and collaboration with additional Cambium staff associated with the projects.

  • Working with spreadsheet calculations and data analysis on a large scale.

  • Adherence to health and safety protocols for self and support staff, if applicable.

  • Field work in all seasons; travel and overtime are typically required.

  • Moderate and occasionally heavy physical exertion, including repetitive lifting, carrying, bending, walking, climbing, and working at heights.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Has an applicable bachelor’s degree in applicable environmental science, environmental or chemical engineering or related fields.

  • College diploma / certificate in environmental science acceptable with the right skillset and experience.

  • Knowledge of general environmental regulations and processes.

  • Familiarity with laws like the Environmental Protection Act, Environmental Assessment Act, Ontario Regulation 419/05 and Ontario Regulation 11/7.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize evolving project requirements for multiple ongoing projects.

  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment with tight delivery deadlines.

  • Demonstrated technical writing and critical thinking skills.

  • Proven communication and detail-oriented skills.

  • Works well independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience working with MS Word, Excel, and all programs under MS Office including Teams, SharePoint, Forms, etc.

  • Valid G Class license and access to a reliable vehicle.
