Regional Meteorological Data Sets Reprocessed with AERMET 24142

The Ministry has provided DRAFT pre-processed Regional Meteorological data sets, which is a key input for running the AERMOD model.  These DRAFT data sets are for testing purposes only during the model update prenotification period, to allow users to assess any potential changes in modelled concentrations in advance of the adoption of the new model version (i.e., AERMOD v24142), and to potentially identify any bugs in the data sets.  Therefore, these data sets may not be used for any regulatory submissions.  Requests for approved regional/local/site specific meteorological data can be made by submitting a s13 form to MetDataENE@ontario.ca or by sending an email requesting that previously approved local/site specific data for your facility be reprocessed with the updated version of AERMET v24142, provided the data is less than 10 years old.

Note that AERMOD v22112 remains the only approved regulatory version of AERMOD until version 24142 is formally adopted (targeted April 2026). 

Requests to use AERMOD v24142 in advance of Ontario’s official adoption can made by submitting a s7 Notice form to MetDataENE@ontario.ca at the same time your request for approved meteorological data is submitted.
